Name: Lightningstar
Age: 34 moons
Gender: Shecat
Clan: Shadowclan
Rank: Leader
Appearence:
Lightningstar is a thin and lithe cat, small though fierce. Her calico markings are a brilliant amber, a coal-black brown, and a shining white. She is one of the fastest cats in the forest and her pawsteps are silent as the hit the forest ground. However, Lightningstar is not perfect- an injury afflicted by lightning has left her tail nothing but a stub and her paw fiercely ravaged. Because of this, she limps when she walks, though she has prefected a way to walk quickly without pushing down on her injury. She is a highly capable warrior and huntress. However, she can not jump as high as a normal cat and she cannot climb trees or land high falls.

Personality: Lightningstar's personality changed throughout the stages of her life. First, she was a bubbly and continuessly happy apprentice. She didn't pay much attention to her mentor and she was always goofing off. Then, she was the constantly shaking, always fearful new warrior. She could not go outside without another cat there to comfort her and she was terrified of storms. Then, she was the collected new deputy, quiet and emotionless. She didn't interact with other cats, she prefered to be alone, left to herself to wallow in misery of the death of her best friend. Finally, she became the quick-witted, sharp-tongued-though-friendly leader she is today. Now, she is unshakable in her goals and friendly to every cat. She is always willing to give a cat a chance to prove himself worthy of being the best he can be. She is still scared of storms, but she represses that fear for the sake of her clan.
History: Like her personality, Lightningstar went through many stages. First was the abovementioned happy, bubbly apprentice. Her name then was Laughingpaw, and it fitted well. She was always smiling, especially with her best friend Greenpaw. However, one day she was hunting with Greenpaw when lightning spontainusly struck her. It cut her tail clean in two and crippled her paw. Greenpaw ran for help while Laughingpaw lay there, on the brink of death. The leader and medicine cat did the best they could, and in the end the medicine cat preformed the ceremony so if Laughingpaw died, she would go to Starclan as a warrior. The medicine cat named her Lightningstruck, and she lived.
Then came the second, the painful stage. Lightningstruck was terrified of everything, from the smallest wind blowing to a hawk beating his wings. Lightningstruck could go nowhere without another warrior, and after a while no warriors wanted to be with her. But Greenpaw stuck with her the entire time.
The leader wanted to help Lightningstruck, so when the former deputy died she made Lightningstruck deputy. She told Lightningstruck she could try it, and if she didn't like it she could go back to be a normal warrior. Greenpaw urged Lightningstar to stay with the job, so she did.
But then an enemy patrol attacked Greenpaw and the leader. The died.
Lightningstruck leader, but she relied on the other warriors to do everything. She had lost her any remaining passion for life that she had had with her best friend. She spent all her time in her den.
Then, one day, Greenpaw, a Starclan cat came to her. The cat told her that she was ok, and that she wanted Lightningstar to become the apprentice she had known.
Lightningstar awoke and began fixing patrols, and, becoming the apprentice Greenpaw had known.
IC: Lightningstar slept.
She was in a star-covered field. Flowers grew amongest the grass in the strangest colors. A purple-orange, a red-blue, a blue-gold-silver... Lightningstar looked above her and gasped. A storm raged above her. Lightningstar the red-green flower, and a new color blossomed from it's depths... a deep yellowish green.
Lightningstar. Lightningstar spun around. A cat was standing behind her, and her pelt seemed to be made from the flower. The green was spreading slowly across her pelt, and Lightningstar glanced down. The flower was gradually become pure green.
So, now you are leader. You have your rank. But you aren't leader, are you? Do you do what a leader must do? The flower-cat's eyes trained into and through Lightningstar. The leader could almost feel the holes.
"No. But why do you care? Starclan hates me. They send the lightning down to me, and take away the one thing that I lived for." Lightningstar didn't care that this cat was a powerful spirit. All the anger, all the emotion that had been bottled up inside her came spilling out. "You don't care about me, you don't like me. My life is dead."
The cat closed her eyes and tilted her head to the stormy sky, a savory expression on her face. Oh, she sighed. That's it. Thats the apprentice I knew- wit of steel, ambition of a hungry badger. She looked at Lightningstruck, who was throughly suprised by now. I am Greenpaw, Lightningstruck. I have gone to Starclan, and now I must teach you why you can't join me here. Lightning came down near Lightningstar's feet, separating the two of them.
"Greenpaw!" called Lightningstar.
Good bye, Lightningstar, called Greenpaw. She was totally green, and so was the flower. Do you understand now?
Lightningstar awoke.
She walked outside, slightly in a daze. Staring at the clouds, she found a flower in the stars.
"I do," she whispered.
